1. Prepare enclosure/terrarium: Remove old litter, clean the bottom, and let it dry.
2. Loosen substrate: Gently loosen the contents of the bag before filling to ensure an even texture.
3. Apply layer: Distribute the substrate evenly and apply it to a sufficient height depending on the animal species (higher for burrowing animals).
4. Create climate zones: Keep some areas slightly moist and others dry – this creates natural microclimates in the enclosure.
5. Regular maintenance: Regularly remove droppings and heavily soiled areas and replenish as needed.
